No Chromecast support. Poor UI space usage. by anonymFor an app that is literally built for streaming, no Chromecast support is inexcusable. The new update is flashy and looks nice, but uses its space really inefficiently. Devices are getting bigger so they are wasting more of the space with huge boxes? For instance, viewing the games today, I can see 2 and a half game tiles on a 5.5 inch screen...if I was mostly blind, maybe that would be helpful. 2/5
Perfect! by anonymMy 2 main complaints with this app were that it wasn't sending me the notifications I told it to and that it was showing the scores from the day before by default. Well now, NHL fixed both of those things with this app and it's basically perfect now. A must have for ANY hockey fan! 4/5
Can't watch local teams by anonymWhy did I pay for this.? Rogers blackout on games that are local. Totally makes the mobile stream useless. Thanks Rogers! 1/5

Games are great, functionality ain't. by anonymThe good news here is you can watch any game (if you have a subscription). However the functionality stinks. Doesn't populate to today's date, starred teams don't appear in the general schedule or scores; actually finding today's hockey games is buried in a mash of buttons. The new update glitches out when attempting to update from the app. The update appears to be working fine from the play store. Nexus 7, 2013, KitKat. 3/5
It works, but always crashes the 1st time I open it. by anonym2 stars is because the update didn't work. I had to delete the app and reinstall. Now it always crashes the 1st time I open it. The app seems to work as it should, I just need to open it twice to do anything. 2/5
Used to be good, until the update... by anonymOnce the new update was issued, the app crashes whenever I try and read the news articles. I tried uninstalling it, then reinstalling it, but that didn't make any difference. It's a shame, I used this app a lot until now, guess I won't until it's fixed. 1/5

Notification settings don't work by anonymI have alerts turned off except for the start of games, and I'm still getting notifications every time any team makes any minor insignificant roster move. 2/5

Apps are supposed to improve by anonymNHL's app went the other way. "Live" listening is more than a few minutes behind. Game info is even worse. If you follow your team on social media and use this app,you'll be very disappointed. You'll get game updates like I do from the Blackhawks, you get score (or any updates) from their social media and then hear the audio about the score several minutes later and if you're lucky you'll see the game updates on the app a few minutes later after the audio. 2/5
Good but still needs work by anonymI watch a lot of live games through this but when I'm getting on late and want to watch the recaps it spoils who the winner is even with the scores turned off. The headline ruins it and it shows a picture of the winning team right next to the "watch highlight" option. 4/5

Useless by anonymI got this app so I could watch the blackhawk games at work or when im out and it doesnt let me because there blacked out due to being a local chanel? I dont feel like I got my moneys worth out of this at all... ive told everyone not to get this because we cant watch the games we actually want to watch. Useless 1/5

Can finally listen... by anonymWhen the app is closed. I don't know if this is a bug or not but I can now listen to the game broadcast with the app closed. I've wanted this ever since I first installed the app a year ago. So happy. 5/5
Crashes by anonymI'm getting app rage here. Every time I try to view a highlights video, the app crashes. I can sometimes get it to work by trying different combinations of screen rotation settings and turning the phone at correct time, but usually just crashes. Used to work fine a couple of versions ago. 2/5
Horrible product. Great customer support by anonymUnless you want to be stuck paying an unreasonable price every month, this is not worth it. With the lack of usability with my Chromecast, I find myself paying for something I don't need, so I contacted customer support, and they canceled my subscription within 10 minutes of contacting them. Thanks NHL for taking my $80 I hope it benefits you. 3/5
Horrible... by anonymWhen I go to check Scores or Leaders, it always displays 'Check back later' and, even after some time has passed, it still displays this. Due to this, I can't check stats, games scores or watch games. 1/5
Notifications by anonymI am having the same problems as other reviewers where I am getting notifications even though I have turned all of the settings to off. Really, really annoying. Other than that, a good app for free. Sadly, I will be uninstalling because I just can't stand getting notifications that I have opted out of. 3/5
Finally! by anonymIt only took 75%+ of the season, but the dates, the scores, and the time zones are finally correct. Wow! Its about time. Thanks for fixing! Increased rating for this app. 4/5
2 complaints. Update fixed complaint #1 by anonym1) Audio stops when you switch apps. So I can't check email, surf etc... without the audio quitting. 2) sucks my battery dry, even when not actively streaming audio. 4/5
WTF no real time updates? by anonymUpdated scores and standings are slow or don't happen till a restart or next day, really? notifications aren't all honored. I liked the gsl application better since I AM PAYING FOR IT! Still broken even on latest. Really sucks! 1/5
Inconsistent by anonymSlick looking and good video, but... I can watch in-game hits from both teams, and in-game shots from both teams but I can only see in-game goals from one team without upgrading. Boo. I call BS. 3/5
A perfect example of horrible service. by anonymApp constantly crashes, kills battery, will not stay shut down(after forcing the app the close) and feels very slow and bloated, it's earned it's star becuase I need an NHL app. 1/5
Can't stop alerts by anonymOverall not a bad app. However, I have checked that I have alerts shut off throughout app....yet I still get them (news) at all hours of the day. Needless to say this is not appreciated in the late night. If it continues, will uninstall. 3/5
A few bugs... by anonymDecent app overall. However, when I've gone through and turned off push notifications for everything and I still get notifications, that's pretty annoying. Also, scores are often blank (just dashes) on the scores page. I have to actually open the story if I want to see what the score was. 3/5
Good but not great by anonymThis app works be perfect except for a few minor glitches. It often loses the HD stream and the home page never shows the score, just a dash under the teams name. Fix these issues and you got a perfect app!!! 4/5
No alerts by anonymI no longer get alerts. I have two favorite teams that I want the updates for and they never give me 1 of the teams and the other stopped coming as well. They need to fix this app soon. 2/5
Alerts off!-Still receiving league alerts by anonymAll alerts are set to OFF but Im still receiving league alets. I have un installed. Sucks I pay all this money for something that doesnt work. Not just the alerts issue but not being able to watch every game,even blackouts is another issue I dont care for this app. 1/5
upgrade the app for a WORSE product?! by anonymUnreal how they made the product worse after asking for an update. I'm a rogers customer using mobile and ps3 to watch games. Live is terrible quality, but watching games from the start and all out of market is a great feature... Except that if you're watching live and pause and you stop for too long or hit o by mistake suddenly the game is unavailable for countless hours while it archives. Also, stats camera angles non-existent for some reason. Terribly executed product release. Garbage marketing 2/5

ALERTS OFF doesn't matter by anonymKeep getting tons of notifications even though I turned alerts off. Sent them an email about it and they replied with this HUGE laundry list of crap they wanted me to try. No thanks. ...deleting the app is much easier. There are plenty of other apps where I can get the same info I need without this hassle. 2/5
Center ice by anonymI pay to watch the out of market games and now if there is a call right before a commercial break I can't backup to see the call until their commercial is over. If I pay for the show I should not have to watch the commercials. Not happy. I will not pay for it next year. 2/5

Bundled shitware by anonymRogers bundled this with the Lollipop update for my S5. I don't care about professional hockey. The alerts don't disable, can't uninstall it without hacking my phone, so it just spams me periodically. Garbage. Edit: discovered I can disable it from Android settings Application Manager 1/5
Alerts don't turn off! Scores set to OFF but still major spoilers. by anonymEven with scores OFF, if it went to OT, it still says "Final (OT)." Major spoiler! Since it went to OT, you figure you'll watch a bit (the suspense ruined), but they still post the recap info with a huge picture of the winning goal scorer or the team congratulating the winning goalie, and it says "Team A wins over team B." Totally ruins the whole game. Fix it!! I also keep getting alerts even though they're all off. Shouldn't happen if paying so much for the full out of market service. 2/5
WAS Great by anonymThe app was great for a couple months, but now keeps telling me to make sure my WiFi is turned on. It thinks I'm offline when I'm not, so I can't access the app. I've reinstalled it twice and still have the same issue. 1/5
This is why this app sucks. by anonymThe 'preview' they give people for gamecenter video is beautifil and fast high def. When you sign in with your account they throttle you down and it's not nearly as nice. Thanks, NHL. Stop screwing your paying customers or we won't buy it again. 1/5
