Negative review Dropped by anonym
Others have said it. The game isn't good when it hits open pieces over and over while its opens sit safely for roll after roll. Gets off the bar first roll 8 of 10 times. And will usually hit a blot right on same roll. Not written well. I like the game but I know enough math to know computer generated randomness is not truly random. The incidence of hitting blots while being able to sit open for several turns forces a change in tactical play. - Months later your AI leads in hits by over 30. Same pattern. 1/5
Negative review Cheats by anonym
Developer insists game does not cheat. The rolls may have been 'random' at some point but they are pre determined before each match and it seems favorable combinations of rolls have been cherry picked favoring the cpu. The cpu makes, otherwise irrational, plays as if it has fore knowledge of the next roll. Rolls are not determined randomly at the time you press roll, otherwise hitting UNDO might yield a different number otherwise. 1/5
Negative review It frickin' cheats by anonym
There's no way statistically that the computer could generate so many doubles when it's the computer's turn, especially when it gives itsekf four doubles in a row while bearing off. I don't care that the game majers insist that it is totally random. Bull! Makes you want to throw the device against the nearest wall! 2/5
Positive review Good game with issues by anonym
Been playing for 18 months. Game very predictable. Same moves all the time. You know when game is going to get perfect dice. Way to many doubles. But when you learn what game is going to do our can beat game most of the time. 4/5
Positive review by anonym
Haven't figured out how to extend the single player vs computer into a multiple game match, let's say first to get 10 or 20 points. Makes the doubling cube more strategic 4/5
Positive review Wow. You get a LOT of complainers. by anonym
Thiz game is very enjoyable to play. I cannot believe people question the randomness of the dice. I for one would love to be playing your level 5 for money. It is fun to beat. These people should quit complaining and learn how to play the game ! Do try to have us a REAL expert level. Thanks. You put out a great series of games. 4/5
Positive review Thanks by anonym
Thanks for such a great app and for working towards more responsible advertising. I reported them to you and after some communication I reinstalled and it was better. Now I can enjoy this great game again. Also I play level 5 and win a lot more than I lose. Sometimes it seems like it has funny rolls but I don't think it actually cheats as some say. 4/5
Positive review Enjoyable app by anonym
Am new to backgammon, but this is easy to play and provides variable difficulty. (Updated: still enjoying very much. Have noted many reviewers seeing dice roll manipulation patterns where there may not be any. Perhaps a post-game histogram might help?) 5/5
Positive review Best version I have played by anonym
Very competitive at level 5. I have learned enough to beat most human players. To those who think dice are rigged: learn to play better and you will avoid pitfalls that look like "cheating" to lesser players. Very well done game! 5/5
Neutral review Can't trust the dice by anonym
I enjoyed playing the game but eventually got frustrated that the cpu kept throwing doubles time after time right at the end which seemed a bit much. I loaded the dice that you can choose but figured out whatever dice number I chose is the number it rolled so I made it do double 6 for me and I made it do 3 for the cpu multiple times. I went from loosing to winning by 286 points and have now lost interest as this is obviously faulty too. The dice need to roll fairly and it would be an awesome game. 3/5
Neutral review Hard to believe by anonym
App looks great. Easy to play, but don't give me this junk about random dice rolls. If you play it maybe you will will see it for yourself. 5 double rolls in the final quarter for the CPU to 1 for the player. And that's not just once. 4 times out of 10 games the dice rolls were very skewed. That is not random. I'm not just noticing the CPU good luck either. Maybe we have different views on 'random' but sorry can't enjoy. Cover lookes great but content is a snake... 3/5
Positive review Good, not perfect by anonym
It plays this really weird way where you dont have to roll exact numbers to go home, just numbers greater than you need and i HATE IT. The whole point is you have to roll exact numbers to go home and you have to move. Everyone winds up needing snake eyes to win. It needs that feature. Plus it needs more graphics choices. Other than that its great. 4/5
Positive review I love it and it's saying birth commands can't beleive what he hears!?!? by anonym
IT blows me right away thinking how long I've been playing this game!! Lol Hi everyone having fun?? Good Luck 5/5
Positive review luv the backgammon. pc got so many dbls in a row but i still won the match. 3 games by anonym
fun & time consuming 5/5
Negative review Cheater by anonym
This game is horrible because it cheats, the only good thing about it is it teaches you how to be a better player. Now that I'm better skilled at the game I'm want to play an honest game. 2/5
Positive review The difficulty could be called easy, kinda, hard, you should study, and lol I cheat human. by anonym
Granted it cheats by rolling doubles a lot at the end when losing so .. no big deal 5/5
Negative review Bad cheating by anonym
The designers say the dice are random, rubbish. I've been playing this everyday for 2 years. On the lower levels it's ok. But I play on level 5, first to 15. If you get a big lead, say 9-0 the computer hits every possible best dice 9 out of 10 times until it becomes level. The number of times you are ahead in the count out part and the computer then gets several doubles on the trot is beyond belief. Was a great game but it is obvious that now it's rigged. You can always tell when it cheats. 2/5
Positive review Good game by anonym
The autobear doesn't always make the best choices and it does seem as though the dice are weighted sometimes but that happens in real games too so ya definitely a convenient backgammon app. 4/5
Positive review Excellent by anonym
Great Backgammon simulator, the AI seems pretty good and the controls are intuitive. Like the auto bearing off feature for the end of games. Very addictive though, be warned! Have noticed one flaw in the AI - it seems unaware of Backgammons, and is unconcerned with getting its pieces out of your home area even when you're a dice roll away from winning! 5/5
Positive review Enjoy the game by anonym
I am an expert level player so I play at the highest level of difficulty. The CPU makes intermediate level moves but gets better rolls, that is how the game is considered "expert". I still enjoy the game but I feel I am playing against a lower level player who gets lucky rolls. I do win about 75% of the time. 4/5
Negative review CAUTION... MATURE ADS by anonym
Video ads are very annoying! Difficulty level doesn't involve better programmed CPU strategy. It means more likely it will get doubles to rush past you when you're getting a lead. Or especially when bearing off. The CPU regularly gets 2-4 doubles in it's inner table. Dice rolls are therefore not random. Very frustrating, especially when it calculates its rolls to hit your single man/men wherever they are. Then doubling up it's blots. Completely bogus explanation for approved random generated dice. The higher the difficulty level the less random and more calculated the rolls in favour of the CPU. It's very obvious to the experienced backgammon enthusiast . There can be no random rolling to ensure any form of difficulty. Rolls are rolls. Seldom does a regular game with a competitor show as many 'optimal' rolls over and over again as in difficulty level 5. But the creators of this version will not admit it. Continually boasting of the quality of the random generator. I'm sure its great, but to create a difficulty of any kind requires a program to generate advantages for the CPU. If they would admit to this I would be complacent but they refuse. 2/5
Positive review by anonym
Yeah...I play at least 3 sets every night at bed time...for you to say it is not rigged and done on a random is so misleading...or should I just say...a down right lie! You can't play as much as I do and not know it...out if 5 games I MIGHT get the first roll once...and when you don't want me to win out n out you give the cp massive sets and the exact dice they need to wipe me out...I don't mind losing at all ...but the way you make sure I do really does take the fun out of the game! *your reply is robotic* 4/5
Negative review Bt by anonym
Since there is no reason to program this game to cheat, I used a separate random dice generator to prove to other users that the game dice truly is random. After hundreds of games using the in game dice generator and the third party dice generator, it is clear that the programmers truly did program the game to roll in favor of the AI. Unfortunately it is too much work to use a separate dice roll generator to keep using this game. Im bored with it. 1/5
Neutral review by anonym
The dice roles truly are randomised but if you don't want to study 'probability statistics' so that you're on the same playing field as the computer, this game isn't worth the effort. (Some people have called this 'being a good player' but there's a difference between 'strategy' and using 'probability statistics'.) 'it uses increased knowledge of probability' Guess what? The standard human doesn't have this ability. Therefore the program has a MASSIVE advantage over the average player. This is why so many reviewers are perceiving the probability programming as 'cheating'. Lvl 1 is not too bad. Prepared to be frustrated on the other Lvls though if you don't want to 'become an expert' and spend a lot of time studying numbers. This app is not for the casual backgammon player. 3/5
Positive review One of the best of its type! by anonym
Animations are ok & don't insult your intelligence. Their explanation of the cpu "cheating" seem reasonable & are "up front". Regardless, it's fun to play until I get bored or annoyed with too many doubles from the cpu-lol! 5/5
Positive review Great app with a few limitations... by anonym
Good, but limited in terms of CPU skill. It accepts doubles too easily, and misses jumping opportunities sometimes. Would be awesome of it had online human opponents as an option. Good GUI, but AI doesn't clear from the back to avoid being backgammoned. Annoying, esp when using doubling cube and playing long matches. 4/5
Neutral review by anonym
This game is wonderful to play however I find the game seems to be programmed. It can be very dishonest at times when playing. 3/5
Negative review Dice rolls cannot be random! by anonym
This would be a good game were it not for the dice rolls. On average, i get taken a good 80 percent of the time when possible. When i can take the computer this is more like 20/30 percent. That simply cannot be random. Computer more often than not throws exactly what it needs. Very, very frustrating and ruins a good game. The responses to criticism insists the rolls are random and that they've been tested. They can't have been tested by a human as it becomes pretty obvious after a couple of games 2/5
Negative review Not random by anonym
Playing on the most difficult level should not mean the computer gets sets of doubles at the end. Played a set of 5 matches and the computer would have a minimum of 3 (consecutive) doubles while we were trying to count the stones off. This happens on a regular basis. Counted them this time to make sure I wasn't just being bitter about losing. 1/5
Positive review Great app by anonym
Works well and the extra content to be unlocked by downloading another free app is just fine. LOVE the stone board. Difficulty settings are great. For disclosure, I just learned the game but I love this app. 5/5
Neutral review Laughably rigged at higher levels by anonym
Free game, so will say a nice effort but got to a point of showing it to others and laughing at CPU's consistent good "luck". It's more complicated than just getting doubles, it's that player's doubles often come when they're unhelpful, player gets consistent low rolls such as 2 & 1 (particularly when trying to get pieces in), and CPU is never hurt for risking open pieces. If I had this much good luck, I'd quit my day job and pay for $$$ :-) 3/5
Neutral review MR B by anonym
I know the rolls are supposed to be random but there are too many times where the CPU rolls exactly what it needs for it to be coincidence. I still manage to beat it more than not. It is like playing any human opponent, you have to learn its style and tendencies. 3/5
Positive review I'm Hooked by anonym
Can't get enough... Only one suggestion; in live backgammon, the rules state that your turn isn't finished until you pick up your dice. In the single player screen, how about a "DONE" button to stop the auto roll for the computer opponent?...In case you're not satisfied with the move of your second (or last) die. By far the best free BG app I've come across - good layout & visual comfort, perfect play animation; game moves smoothly. Hours of fun and honing my skills! 5/5
Positive review Best Backgammon Out There by anonym
Those who say the game is rigged don't know how to play the game. If anything it is too easy. It will take doubles just because it needs a lower number even when I have huge wall advantage. It would be way too difficult to make it harder without actually shaving the dice though. 5/5
Neutral review I wish... by anonym
I wish someone would write a Backgammon game with only one level. Absolute random roll of the dice and the best possible moves. That would be a good game and genuine. I also wish the creators of these games would give a hint to how THEY play. The author of this game, for instance, likes a race. He/she tries to get passed the other person's pieces and race to the finish. The problem with that is that a) it takes very little strategy and b) the game totally depends on the roll of the dice. 3/5
Neutral review by anonym
I have a way to prove the dice is biased. When it is your turn to play, roll the dice and determine the move you are going to make. Once determined, make a different move, and then let the computer roll. Once it has rolled, undo the move, and go back and make the move you originally intended. You will see that the computer's roll is typically a response to your previous roll, meaning the perfect roll for itself to respond to your roll. 3/5
Negative review CHEATS SO MUCH! by anonym
No easy levels DO NOT INSTALL lying sacks of sh!t. Uninstalling. The most Horrible backgammon game ever!!!!!! Should be taken off Google play!!! 're: already reported. Your so called work is a laughing stock. Go back to school. This time for ethics. Your formulas are all wrong. Go back to the drawing boards. 1/5
Positive review Very Addictive by anonym
I enjoy this game. The big down fall is that the game is predictable. It is suppose to be chance, but first throws are Always repetition s. I.e.; 3:5, 2:4, and 6:1. Overall, the game is fun to play. 4/5
Positive review Addicting by anonym
Can't lose even when computer tries to cheat. And it definitely cheats ridiculously obvious. So to make it fair. I cheat as well. I love it!!! I can't lose at the highest level. My goal is to never lose. So far, so good. Samsung Galaxy Discover. I'm responding to ur response that u do not cheat. LOL!!!!! Tell me why I get the majority of my doubles when the game is decided, and i'm so far ahead ? and bearing off. Or my last roll is usually a double ? Only then my double count become higher. Why????????????? 4/5
Negative review TERRIBE AI.. by anonym
Its soooo obvious that this game cheats that it takes away thee enjoyment. I can call all the AI dice rolls before they happen. Kinda sucks. Good looking game just isn't fun anymore after a week of playing 2/5
