This new update is exactly what I hate. New layout is inefficient, confusing, syncing error, and app crashes sometimes. The recently added Playlist is missing and the app is power hungry and I have a Sony Z3, go figure. Terrible update. 1/5

I really wanted to love this app, but it is missing features in its current state that would make it a truly great app for amazon prime music. -Currently if your network connection encounters a hiccup the music will stop playing and not resume without user interaction. This makes listening in the car through bluetooth unusable. -Does not auto play the last prime station when restarted. Would be useful to be able to set to auto-play last station. - Does not pass Track information to bluetooth when connected. 3/5

This app is probably the most unreliable music streaming app I've ever attempted to use. Uninstalled this app within ten minutes of downloading it as I couldn't stream a single song. Meanwhile my Rdio application works just fine on this tablet and network and has a much more refined UI. Overall pretty terrible product from a company with such an enormous market cap. Hire a few more engineers to make this product even remotely decent. 1/5

I am not happy with the most recent version. It's very difficult to navigate to the top of the list of songs in my library so that I can click shuffle. I liked the older version better it was much easier to navigate through albums, artists and songs. It's a little bit tricky to grab on to the side bar to drag it, especially to reach the shuffle button at the top of the list of songs. Also, I tried searching for songs and the app crashed REPEATEDLY; I mean it just FREAKED out. Very disappointed in the app now and I hope they fix it very soon. 3/5

Few drops when lesioning. You can pick from a large assortment of albums and songs or pick the apps assortment. Could use some work on downloading and a more simplistic way of Choosing songs out of the albums for downloading. But the best thing is, its free and no dam commercials. I like it. Steve 4/5

Once again, U guys totally broke it! Since the last major update the app stinks! No locked screen controls, the list view is not shuffled, the widget is more crowded and hard to use anymore. This app combined with an Amazon Prime membership is the key to workplace bliss as you can plug in and focus on your work without interruptions (if that's what you are into). Either way this thing is AWESOME! 5/5

I have used the Android Amazon music player for a long time to listen to my own music, music I purchased from Amazon and Prime Music. With the latest version I experience an issue with the sound cutting off. I contacted support and was impressed with the response. A knowledgeable support person got on the phone with me and we worked through the issue together. I don't think I have seen this level and quality of support anywhere. 5/5

I don't know what people are complaining about. This app is awesome and I love it! Most of the complainers are probably technology challenged. One addition would make it even better. Please add the ability to play prime music through Sonos. I'll give it 5 stars if that is done. 4/5

I will give props where props are due, Amazon actually fixed the UI. However now the play controls are often unresponsive from the lock screen, and when they finally work they skip in the middle of another song you're listening to which is very annoying. Also there is an occasional glitch that pauses the music for no apparent reason at all. Thank You Amazon for fixing the GUI however this is two steps forward and one step back. Hopefully next version will be better. 2/5

I used this a lot on my previous phone (Android 4.4) and it was great - I'm a prime member and I used the music library with download for offline listening extensively. Now I have a new device with Android 5.0 and this feature is essentially useless, because after I download some music (usually about 3-5 albums worth) the app crashes and then doesn't work AT ALL! After the crash it refuses to see my cloud library or my downloaded music. If I sign out and sign back in I can start the process all over... It's been doing this for the last 4-5 app updates and no sign of a solution. I've submitted several crash reports and haven't seen anything that addresses the problem. Please fix this, I'd really like to have this be a useful app again! 2/5

The music selection is pretty great, and i love that it's included with my prime membership. Since the update the streaming is significantly smoother and faster, rating bumped back up to 5 stars! 5/5

I bought 100's of albums to find as soon as I'd no card, no access. I have a card now so I'm allowed to listen to the hundred plus albums I own. Good of them.I'm sick of the weekly updates too,not just this app,but many .no one,Inc Google can program for lollipop it seems.DON'T BUY MUSIC ON AMAZON 1/5

Okay is the right word but its kinda half baked. The interface is really clunky. No intuitive way to see your now playing list. The UI overall needs to be retooled. I'm very tech savvy but I'm having trouble navigating around the app effectively. Not to mention the battery drain mentioned by others is very accurate. 2/5

I've had this app for awhile now. I do agree with some of the other comments that there are some issues with it. It will indicate that it is playing when it's not. This has always resolved itself easily. I have had Amazon Prime for 2 years and think the addition of the music has been well worth it. I like the new prime stations more than Pandora or any other music playing app. There are no commercials and the music is true to the station description and I'm pretty sure I've heard very little repetition. 4/5

The functionality of their music app gets worse and worse with each update. Clicking on the widget just brings up the song that is currently playing and doesn't give you an opportunity to navigate to the rest of your library. The back button completely removes you from the app instead of displaying the app home screen. It also crashes more often than it should. The app completely lacks intuitive functionality, which is the cornerstone of a successful app. **UPDATE** App still sucks. 1/5

I'm personally not experiencing battery problems like the other reviews have, and I really like the new layout. I hated having to constantly go to "artist" every time I opened the app, but now it can load with it, which I'm happy about since I had gotten used to it with iTunes. I also like the rounded icons, it's more aesthetically pleasing to look at. 5/5

This latest version has brought me back to using this app! The new search is SO MUCH easier to use to access my music. I pay to store all of my music in Amazon's cloud and ever since the into of prime music this app has been a disaster. Much improved! 4/5

In short, it needs work. Just recently started skipping like a scratched CD while streaming to my car. Prior to this I had to restart the app several times to get it to play after it would force shutdown. The layout and organization is not nearly as user friendly as Apple or others but the music selection is good so I'll stick with it. Plus I've already paid for the year. 3/5

I was excited about this addition to Prime mostly because I thought I would be saving money by being able to cancel my Spotify account. It has been kind of a let - down; the music selection is very limited, the UI sucks, the features are super basic and the radio feature is alright. The only good thing about this service is that it is free with Prime. I realize that this is a new program but it has a long way to go before it can compete with other similar programs. Please just copy Spotify and go from there 2/5

Needs one for top 40. When opening the app and heading to Recents, instead of playing the whole station, it just plays one song and then the station ends. It should be directing to Prime Music, NOT Recent Activity upon opening the app as Prime Music plays the whole station. 3/5

I have a Samsung galaxy s5 loaded with over 4 thousand songs. I used to be able to leave it on shuffle and it would shuffle through my list ok, but after the latest update the shuffle stops at about 40 songs like it's through passing all songs. Even if i leave it at just a single artist with all their songs it plays up to 40 and then quits after that. Please fix, regular music player included with my phone play all but 500 songs since they're amazon prime, the rest i own. 2/5

I already use Amazon Prime for so much! Movies, free shipping, and now music. This app is so straight forward and you can still like/ dislike songs to customize the stations. Also it plays in the background, unlike Pandora. 5/5

Used to purchase most of my music on this app, as I despise iTunes...but since it's most recent update, this app has become crash-prone: every time I try to browse by subgenre-ex: punk and hardcore, it instantly crashes. Might have to find somewhere else to buy my music if it does not get fixed! 1/5

I like the app, but my major grip is when playing via blue tooth in my car. It doesn't send track info to my cars screen. And no it isn't my phone, because my stock Samsung music player will. I don't use the Samsung app because it won't play my Amazon Prime free music downloads. And as far as the reviews below this one, I haven't had any of those issues, everything works great. Edit I recieved an OS update to Android 5.0.1, and that fixed the problem. Galaxy S4. 4/5

App music stop streaming from the cloud. Can only stream I'd download to device and no options to move songs to sd card. This app is totally useless to me and it use to my favorite. I wish amazon would get it together they definitely have the right idea if it would just work. 1/5

This app was great & worked well on my Samsung Galaxy tablet 2014 until it was changed & "updated". Now every time I try using app, it self-closes. It doesn't even make it through half a song. **Update** Previous issue fixed regarding tablet. Now, when using my LG G3 & I try to look at lyrics, I get a notification that says, "Unfortunately, Amazon Music has stopped working." As long as I don't attempt the lyrics it seems to work fine though. 3/5

It needs some fine turning, but overall it's pretty good. Since I already have a Prime account, I consider that a bonus. Amazon gives free 2-day shipping, free movies, tv shows, and now this. I love them all. 4/5

...it's great. Unfortunately, this app is pretty unreliable. I'll have a music station playing and the app will just stop working. Lately it's been playing one song on a station then stopping. I have to open the app and hit the station again to play another song. As an Amazon Prime member, this is really disappointing. I find myself using Pandora more. 3/5

I like the app, but it is constantly running in the background. It uses more energy than my operating system. The only thing that uses more energy than this app is my screen. There is no reason for that kind of drain on my battery especially since I have it set up to not run in the background when I'm off Wi-Fi. I'm taking it off off my phone. People here complaining about the power usage...it's not that bad. The only issue I have is that my songs skip sometimes. They'll cut out, then come back on. But the player will play the song at twice the speed until it gets to where the song would of been had it not skipped. Fix this...and you get 5 stars. 4/5

The app works fairly well and the music selection is okay. But what drives me crazy is the little bubble with the lyrics follows when I use other apps. Also it doesn't close down when I end all programs. Frustrating as hell. 1/5

The latest update has turned amazon music into the most power hungry application I have, forcing me to Disable. Android Battery monitor shows that this is the highest consumer of energy and this was confirmed - my battery usage went from 100 mA/hour to > 700aA/hour; that's enough to keep my phone pretty warm. I can go more than a day on a charge, but I couldn't get thru the morning today. Pls resolve as this is my primary tool for music 2/5
