Its a good way for people to update themselves. Though the website version has details of their environmental and social impact a long while back I was on it. I found it disturbing when my organic dog food with less harmful ingrediates to my suprise a low social rating knowing it good contributions. How could it disreguard the overall most important factor that is the leading cause to most illness in our country today, GMO! People! Looks like we have to do everything ourselves...a lost art in itself. 1/5

The keyword associated with this app is "guide". It's a guide to help someone be a smarter, more conscientious shopper. The database includes an impressive array of items and companies, and while not totally inclusive it covers the major brands. Though the ratings and criterion may be a little suspect, it's a good starting point. It helps to illuminate poor shopping habits where health and environmental impacts are concerned. It's certainly helped me change my shopping habits, and I hope that it continues to evolve. It's no substitute for an informed shopper, but it can help you get there. 4/5

I really love Good Guide's website, but this app is a bit of a flop. The barcode scanner is a nice feature, but it doesn't seem to reliably bring up products (even ones that I've later been able to find by manually searching their database). The design of the app is very basic, and the functionality of your searches is limited, as you cannot choose how the search results are presented. Results seem to come up randomly, as they are in neither alphabetical nor numerical/score order. 2/5

The very first company I saw listed here was seventh generation; which they gave an 7.1 rating for being socially responsible. This company is not socially responsible. They not only promote cruel animal testing practices, but they also promote legislation that will lead to more animal testing! If this app gives seventh generation such a specious rating, how can I trust any of their other ratings? I give this app 4 stars because they list product's ingredients; and they mark which ones are harmful. 4/5

Needs a bigger data base (recognized about 1/10 of what I scanned), and an improved barcode scanner (it takes forever to register and needs to be held really still, which requires a lot of talent - something similar to the one on myfitnesspal would be a great improvement!) 3/5

I was excited about this app, but after using it on the items I have in my apartment, I found only 1 in 10 had data, and that data was often vague, such as a simple numeric score rather than details. Data on companies wasn't any better. I searched St John's Bay, a company I buy from frequently and got 2 numbers: social and environmental. Not very informative. 2/5

I used the scanner & most items weren't found. When I checked our other products in their list they have ratings based more on the company than the product. I just want a good product, that's safe. The "unsafe" ones are that way, why? It's not clear except for a bunch of scary chemicals listed by low medium and high danger. One high one was my Jergens natural glow moisturizer. Do I still use it or am I now worried? How can it be sold if it's unsafe? I expect cleaners to be dangerous but not this. Fail 1/5

You're obviously A MORON. There has been extensive testing on gmos on mice causing suppressed auto immune functionig and respiratory supression from being fed gmo peas. Do your research and don't let yourself be another sheep. Gmos not only cause health problems but it isnt humans place to play god and screw with dna. I love this app. It has a lot of good info about product's environmental, health, and social impacts. My only issue is that, living on Guam, many common products here are "regional" and therefore not included in their database (yet). They've been great with their customer service and said they are always adding new items. 4/5

I wish the app would tell me what places near me I can buy a product. From the app I wish I could look up specifically a type of food and only see options that have specific certifications I want to see. There's still much more this app could do but doesn't yet. 3/5

Great product information on consumer goods. However, I would not recommend this app for food products. I would expect foods with GMO ingredients would rate lower than organics, but that is not the case. Rates solely based on nutrition, which is useful, but should also account for genetically modified foods 4/5

Good guide has great information on product safety and corporate responsibility. The search isba little inflexible, but the barcode scan works very well and it's handy for checking products while shopping. 5/5

More products are needed. Also some products are in there but not associated with a barcode. Would be nice if we could associate a barcode with a particular product that exists as well as report inaccurate barcodes. 4/5
